My Living Space Refresh >>> >
If you men understand me well (and I understand a few of you understand me much better than I understand myself ) you keep in mind that every January I like to provide my living-room a refresh. I get all the red and green and go very minimalist all around.
This comes as not a surprise considering I reorganized my youth bed room as soon as a month, monthly, my whole life. There is absolutely nothing like a great space revitalize!! “Brand-new space, brand-new me”
Here are the refresh tweaks I made
1// Gotten rid of the dining-room carpet
The carpet was harmed, and now that it’s gone, I am recognizing it was among the factors I constantly felt our primary space was jumbled.
I went to Pinterest and looked for “dining-room” to see if going rug-less was permitted. Ha! It appeared about half of dining-room had quite carpets and half did not. Considering that our dining-room belongs to our living-room, I constantly seemed like the carpets took on one another. Now it feels more available to me!
The couch carpet is Pottery Barn Jute + Wool and the dining-room carpet was seagrass.
Throughout the years, the seagrass carpet began to completely break. The most significant imperfection was because of the dining chair feet ripping it up. There was likewise playdoh and infant food stuck in every crevice on the high chair end.
Look carefully in this image to see the huge rip:
It simply feels a little lighter in there! Our table is the Toscana Extending Table from Pottery Barn. I like it due to the fact that it conceals marker marks from youngsters illustrations!
OH– and to secure the flooring I included these little silicone feet to the bottom of the chairs. They fit well and are ideal for preventing more scraping. These chairs are the Remy chair from Remediation Hardware (I’m unsure they are still offered) however I am not completely delighted with them 6 years later on due to the fact that they are dented in numerous areas and the rubber feet came off seriously harming our carpet, the flooring, and the BRAND-NEW DECK FLOORING– ugh! These feet are the ideal option.
Brand-new dining chairs are something I can’t bare to change due to the fact that these work simply great and we have 6 of them. However I would like a various design at some time in my life.
2// Reorganized the high chair location
We wish to be finished with the high chair quickly (Birch can being in a booster however a high chair tray is still much easier to clean up and not fret about falling out of). We never ever had a great area for it. You can see in the in the past pic it simply sort of crowded beside the table.
I moved the computer system station, plant, and Alexa on the marble table to the opposite of the space. Now the high chair has great deals of area! (Keep in mind the brand-new plant corner too!)
See the marble table in this photo? While it’s a household treasure of mine, I’m not wed to this place or the design of the base of the table, so I’m unsure if it will remain here or be moved once again.
3// Turned the couch carpet 180 degrees
Our carpet, the Pottery Barn Chunky Wool/Jute Carpet, was looking quite used in the front where the kids play all the time and Gus invests 99% of his time. We like this carpet– it’s very comfy and conceals dirt and discolorations SO well, however 6 years in it wasn’t looking brand name brand-new anymore.
A fast 180 turn and we tucked the used side under the sofa and highlighted a brand name brand-new side! (Likewise you would not think all the canine hair and infant toys under there!)
You can see the side that was formerly under the sofa is looking extremely sharp in contrast to the middle right beside the sofa. We’ll provide this side 4 more years and most likely will change the carpet after that– whenever it truly begins to break down. 10 years is a great life for a primary living carpet with 2 kids and a canine do not you believe?
Likewise: we have discussing bringing the coffee table back up from the basement sometimes, however whenever we believe we’re prepared we simply consider how the kids will have absolutely no flooring area to play and we persuade ourselves we simply do not require a coffee table at this phase of life.
4// Kept the blue light!
Formerly we had a flooring light beside this buffet. I moved this beautiful light from Wayfair up and like the lighter wood search for the living-room revitalize! The light has actually formerly constantly remained in our workplace The vintage crockery assists fill out that corner.
( Everybody constantly asks, and this buffet was Karen’s and I do not understand where she got it.)
And one last revitalize– my KERF linen towel on the range!
